1. iPhone Dictionary

The complete German-English vocabulary of dict.cc is now available for download and offline use on the iPhone. Just search the AppStore for "dict.cc" to install the free application!

2. Toolbar

The free toolbar for Internet Explorer and Firefox gives you instant access to dict.cc from any web site.

3. Offline Dictionary

Christian Simon has written a program for looking up translations without being connected to the Internet. This "elcombri Translator" is available for free under the terms of the GPL and can be downloaded at www.elcombri.de. The vocabulary database is not contained in the program and has to be downloaded from dict.cc in a second step.

4. Mac OS X 10.4+ Dictionary Lookup Service

To use: Highlight any word or phrase and select the AufDeutsch Service from the Services menu or use the keyboard shortcut (see readme.rtf contained in the zip file). Your system selected browser will open a page with the translation selected from dict.cc.

5. Plugin for the dictionary included in Mac OS X 10.5

The application is free for personal use. The translation data contained must not be extracted and/or republished in any way. Installation instructions can be found at lipflip.org. Please direct any questions to Philipp!

6. RDictCc: Linux/Emacs dictionary

This program (Ruby script) also uses the vocabulary database provided here and is licensed under the GPL. It was developed by Tassilo Horn, so in case of any questions please contact him directly.

7. Linux dictionary (gtk+)

This program (» Download) also uses dict.cc's vocabulary database and is licensed under the GPL. Its developer is Lukasz Czajka.

8. Dictionary in Perl

This Perl script (» Download) is tiny and very useful to search the vocabulary database. Developed by matthias.bloch (at puffin dot ch).

9. C#-Wörterbuch (.NET, Mono)

This program (» Download) runs on Windows and Windows Mobile as well as on platforms that support Mono. Developed by Daniel Stoinski.

10. Palm Dictionary

PalmOpenDic (not tested by me) can use the vocabulary data of dict.cc using a converter program.

11. Windows Integration

Using the shareware program "Slicktionary" you can access dict.cc from any Windows application. Just hold down the shift key and right-click the word to look up.  » Download
